Default Flywheel change - any advice

Hey All (Chester...hope you catch this),

I've got a 2000 SuperJet with a 62T case (dual carbs) and am swapping out my stock 62T flywheel, stator, and electrics for a 61X RAD lightened flywheel, stock 61X stator, and electrics.

I've pulled the stock flywheel before and that was pretty straightforward, but I'm wondering if there is anything special I should know about the stator and/or electrics in the electrical box?

I have a 61X stator ready to go and wired up to a wiring harness. I have to pull my existing wiring out of the box and hook in the new stator and wiring.

Other than that, I don't know of any gotchas I may find.....anybody??

Thanks in advance for any advice

    Cheers

You shouldn't have any problems at all. It'll all just bolt on & plug in.

    Hey Chester,

    Good to hear from ya!!

Yep...that's pretty much what I thought, but a guy in the UK (a marine engineer no less) is telling me he's seen MSD enhancers in combination with RAD lightened wheels cause the timing to be too advanced and blow the fronts off of pistons. Seems a tad dramatic, but I thought I'd mention it (and remind you that I am planning on running the 2 parts together with stock timing). he suggested altering the timing a few dgrees from stock (I assume he meant retard it a bit....waiting on his reply).

Let me know if you're heading over to Vic....especially if yer bringing your ski....we should go for a ride!

    Cheers
