    what are the costs associated with jet skis. obviously there is gas and repairs.. that more what im wondering about. im affraid with buying an older ski il have to do an engine rebuild, carb work, new batery and anything else that may go wrong, what else is a typical problem what are the typical costs, just things i should know.

    well, there is no exact science when it comes to potential repairs for skis...however if you are capable of doing the work yourself you'll save a ton, plus there is usually plenty of used parts available to help further decrease the costs, you just have to know where to look.

    If you are picking up a ski I would first clean the carb(s) and make sure it is jetted/tuned right, make sure compression is good, probably replace fuel and water lines, make sure all electrical connections are tight and corrosion free, and drain the tank and make sure it is free of debris and water.

    ^... and if the compression is bad?


    what is an acceptable percentage for the compression to be out from stock numbers?
