    Question FZR / FZS owners

    Hey folks !

Looking to buy my first personal watercraft, particularly a Yamaha being I have always owned Yamaha products. I'm interested in the new FZR or the FZS model, however, I'm leaning towards the R being it is Blue. I was hoping the S model would have come in Blue as well to take advantage of the towing capabilities and the extra room in the seat for 3 people if necessary, but that color isn't an option on the S model this year. Anyway, if I could get some good honest feedback on both models, I'd really appreciate it !

    Thanks !

    I have ridden a FZR

    Great ski

Corners well and accelerates very hard

    good in rough water

The 2010s will be announced soon (monday?) maybe the colors will change

I'd get a FZS just to get the 3rd seat

I've been reading that the FZR has problems with the intake grate where people are getting seriously hurt. There are quite a few threads on this subject at GreenHulk.net.

I like how the FZR uses 87 octane. Wish my rxpx wasn't such a gas pig!

The intake grate problem is an easy fix - simply bolt on a replacement R&D intake grate

The FZR / FZS is a great ski. Great handling like a GPR and excellent rough water capability like an XLT all in one.

i did some fzr riding in body beach in october. its a very good ski, handling is good for the size and weight. i deff prefer the quality and finish of the japanese ski over the seapoo. it has better ergonomics then the previous gpr. in stock form it still needs handling mods. its awesome with a dual prop pump and an ecu upgrade

    Yamaha parts are

    1) readily available

    2) can be purchased on-line at a 30% discount off of US MSRP

    at

    www.boats.net

Great service, typically shipped next day. even for obscure parts they have to get from Yamaha they are always shipped out in less than a week
