    Default Winterization

What does everyone pay to have thier Ski Winterized?
    Winterized? Oil Change/Service?
    What about heated winter storage?

I won't be putting mine in heated storage, but definately indoors. It's good to protect it from the elements to some degree. Storage prices varies depending where you live, but I found my storage by doing a kijiji search. $150 for the season in farmers barn. Every year this guy packs his unused barns with RV's, boats, cars and other summer fun things...

My dealer wanted $700 but this price included winterization.... too steep for me.

I work at a yamaha dealer and we charge $350 for heated indoor storage and that includes the labour to winterize, if its a 4 stroke and needs the oil changed than we charge an additional half hour labour plus oil and filter.

regular winterize service for a 2stroke would run about $130 after tax and 4 stroke about $220 after tax

Any tips on winterizing a 2 stroke ski? I just got it this year and not sure what all should be done. It has a full tank of gas right now. I have heated storage lined up, but don't know what should all be done to it over the winter. Thanks

Those seem like pretty reasonable prices for a Dealer.
What would be the advantage of heated storage if you are going to winterize anyway?

winterizing a 2 stroke is easy...

    stabilize and circulate fuel
    fog engine
run antifreeze through cooling system - but you may not have to do this if it is in heated storage but not a bad thing to do

We only have heated storage as we have eveythign stored on site...benefits to winterizing even with heated storage? Thats a good question...2 strokes should be fogged forsure if not being used for a while to prevent any internal corrosion and to keep everything lubed wile sitting and 4 strokes well its a good habit to form to leave them sitting with fresh oil in them, plus come spring it is already ready to go. The rest of the winterize process is just good for piece of mind...

Wash with mild soap and water to scrub jet ski.
Drain any water from the jet ski.
    Spray fogging oil.
Remove the battery and store the battery in a warm, clean area.
Put the trailer on blocks and cover wheels.
