The event will be held November 25-27th at Villa Beach. This is the final event of the 2005 IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour.

For the seventh consecutive year, Santa Catarina Brazil will be home to the Jet Waves World Championship of Freeride Watercraft. This year’s event will be held between November 25th -27th at Villa Beach in Imbituba, located 70km south of the city of Florianopolis. The action will begin on Thursday and gather some of the world’s best Freeride Jet Ski pilots to determine the World Champion. The competition is the exciting climax of the 2005 IFWA Freeride World Championship Tour.

The number of participants is limited to 40 and competitors will be divided into categories: Stand Up Pro, Sit Down Pro, Stand Up Amateur and Sit Down Amateur.

Amongst the Brazilian favorites are those from Santa Catartina State including Alessander Lenzi, Ivo Sehn Neto, Carlos Edurado Nunes and Alexandre Sampaio, and the local from Uberlandia (MG) Douglas Carvalho.

Many international pilots will also be traveling to Imbituba including multi-World Champion Jimmy Visser of South Africa. He will be joined by compatriots Jeremy Philips, Andrew Smith and son James Visser. From Europe come the French competitors Pierre Maxient, Gil Beurnier, Romain Stampers and Henry Charlet, and Italian Federico Bufacchi. Also battling in the surf for valuable points and World Title aspirations are the North Americans Joe Kenny, Taylor Curtis, Jerry Brandon and Ross Champion.
