    Default Back country tips

In light of the recent bear incidents across the province, the authorities are warning the public to be prepared when traveling. It is advised that hikers and others carry pepper spray and wear little bells to warn off the bears. As well, be able to identify animals in the area by the content of the droppings:

Black bear: droppings contain blue berries.

Grizzly bear: droppings contain little bells and smell like pepper spray.

Well frankly, I do a little singing when in the woods and everything usually leaves.
    What stays, dies.
