    Default Newbie need advice

    Hello All,

    Looked at a 1999 GTX 60 hours... nice shape save for the engine. Top end seized over the winter of 2006/07. NADA average comes in @ $4300. What should I offer? I am VERY mechanically inclined (two trades tickets). Thank you in advance !!! Here is the ad:

    Mechanical top end is seized I got a quote from local Motor sports for complete repair $2500 new battery and all just drop it in the water so total cost to u 5500 this machine is worth much more than this I do not want to spend the cash to fix it so my loss is your opportunity for gain other then that it is in top condition 3000 OBO
    $100 manual (for repairs, maintenance ect)
    complete electronic read outs, hours, speed, fuel , this is a deluxe model
    History of service done through local Motor sports(since I've owned it)
    Powerful enough to water-ski behind,
    under 60 hours, battery fully charged,
    garage kept,
    comes with 3 wet suits xs,m,xxl,
    3 life jackets (1 body glove black neoprene),
    fire extinguisher, flash light,
    2 flairs, whistle, bail kit tossing life line in a bag,
    tube with protective cover,
    anchor,100' toe rope,
    cover for seadoo.
    lock on trailer(with key)

    rear view mirrors,
    galvanized trailer,
    2 electronic keys (won't start without them)
    have K numbers registered with transport canada just not on the pic here
    I can bring it to where you are at still have insurance on trailer.

    Hi Tippy, that's a tough one. I would suggest contacting Chester here in the community for some help on that.
    Seeing it's your first post, Chester is a ski mechanic and comes highly recommended.

    gtx-l or gtx-rfi? i picked up a 99gtx-rfi for a friend about 3 years ago for $4000 and 39 hours on it. literally mint condition. ski has run like a charm since. i wouldn't offer more than $1000-$1500 for something with a blown engine. you could easily be looking at $1500 for a rebuild if you do most of the work yourself. $3000 if you get a dealership to do it.
